{"id":4773,"date":"2025-10-24T17:44:06","date_gmt":"2025-10-24T17:44:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flourishresearch.com\/?post_type=studies&#038;p=4773"},"modified":"2025-12-29T21:36:51","modified_gmt":"2025-12-29T21:36:51","slug":"flu-vaccine-san-antonio-texas","status":"publish","type":"studies","link":"https:\/\/flourishresearch.com\/studies\/flu-vaccine-san-antonio-texas\/","title":{"rendered":"Flu Vaccine Research Study"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Basic Criteria<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Age 65 or older\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Answers Must be NO<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Are you currently confined to bed by sickness or old age?\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have you received a flu shot in the past 6 months?\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Are you planning to get a flu shot anywhere else during the next 6-8 months?\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have you been in any other research studies with medications or vaccines in the past month?\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Are you planning to join any other research studies in the next 6-8 months?\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do you take high-dose steroids like prednisone &#8211; 20 mg or more daily for more than 2 weeks at a time?\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do you take any chemotherapy or medications that suppress your immune system?\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have you had radiation treatment in the past 3 months?\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have you received any blood transfusions, blood\/plasma products or IV immunoglobulin treatments in the past 6 months?\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have you ever had a severe allergic reaction to a flu shot &#8211; like trouble breathing, swelling, or needing emergency treatment?\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do you have any severe allergies to vaccines or vaccine ingredients like eggs?\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have you ever been diagnosed with Guillain-Barr\u00e9 syndrome &#8211; that&#8217;s a rare condition that can cause muscle weakness and paralysis?\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do you have multiple sclerosis, transverse myelitis, or any other nerve conditions that cause inflammation?\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do you have any current infection or had a fever of \u2265100.4\u00b0F in the past 3 days?\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do you have any medical conditions that would prevent you from getting a shot in your arm?\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do you have any conditions that would prevent you from having blood drawn?\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do you work for Seqirus pharmaceutical company, or is anyone in your immediate family involved with this research?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have you already participated in this specific flu vaccine study before?\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Answers Must be YES<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Are you able to make your own medical decisions without a guardian?\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Are you willing and able to comply with all study procedures and follow-up requirements?\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Are you available for the full 6-8 month study duration?\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do you have reliable phone access for study calls and follow-up?\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Are you willing to come to the clinic for all required study visits?\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you developed cold or flu symptoms during the study, would you be willing to come in for an extra visit so we can test you?\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":4775,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"template":"","city":[29],"indication":[116,144],"therapeutic_area":[],"class_list":["post-4773","studies","type-studies","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","city-san-antonio","indication-flu","indication-vaccine"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.6 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Flu Vaccine Research Study - Flourish Research<\/title>\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"Join a research study for the flu vaccine!
